Dr. Yassi joined Pathology Laboratory Associates (PLA) in August 2023. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Dermatopathology and brings impressive experience in Surgical Pathology and Dermatopathology to PLA.

Dr. Yassi earned his medical degree in Baghdad, Iraq in 2004 and emigrated to the United States as a refugee in 2008.

In 2013, he started his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at University of South Dakota in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated in 2017. He then did a Surgical Pathology fellowship at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he stayed afterwards as an assistant professor and staff pathologist from 2018-2020. During that time, he received several awards for excellence in teaching.

In 2021, he did a Dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and then worked for Ameripath in Fort Myers, Florida as a dermatopathologist and surgical pathologist.
